India achieved another milestone in the space sector with the successful launch of Mission Aagaman, featuring the country’s first private orbital-class rocket Vikram-1 developed by Skyroot Aerospace. The rocket was launched on Saturday at 11:30 AM from the First Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) in Sriharikota, Tirupati district. Minister Nara Lokesh witnessed the historic launch from the ISRO Launch View Gallery along with his son Devansh.
Developed with fully indigenous technology, Vikram-1 is equipped with advanced propulsion systems, 3D-printed engines, and solid-fuel rocket boosters. The rocket is designed to place four small satellites weighing around 350 kg into a low Earth orbit at an altitude of 450 km. It carried technology demonstration payloads from Pixxel Space, Cosmoserve, and DcubeD, along with Skyroot’s ‘Scope’ satellite and artistic payloads from Cosmos Diamonds. Skyroot Aerospace CEO Pawan Kumar Chandana and ISRO Chairman Dr. K. Narayanan attended the event.
