Andhra Pradesh Strengthens Tax Revenue Collection

Andhra Pradesh has registered notable growth in tax revenue during August, reflecting an improvement in the state’s revenue collections. According to the figures, tax revenue stood at Rs 21,558.09 crore in August last year, while collections increased to Rs 25,449.80 crore during August this year. The latest figures indicate a growth of 18.05% compared with the corresponding period last year.

The Commercial Taxes Department’s technology-focused measures are being credited with supporting the improved collections. The state government has introduced AI-based scrutiny in the department as part of efforts to strengthen tax monitoring and compliance. At the same time, steps to simplify the tax payment process are aimed at making compliance easier for taxpayers and further improving revenue generation.
