Two women from Kerala were brutally murdered in California, United States, in an incident that has shocked the Indian community. The victims were identified as Anjana, 35, from Mudikkode near Thrissur, and Ann Mary Mathew, 40, from Kesavadasapuram in Thiruvananthapuram. Their family members have alleged that a woman identified as Anila, who lived in the same apartment complex and was known to the victims, was responsible for the killings. San Jose police have detained the suspect and launched an investigation.
The incident reportedly took place on Friday afternoon. According to allegations by family members, Ann Mary was fatally attacked with a knife after the suspect entered her residence, while Anjana was allegedly killed after being hit by a car. An employment-related dispute is suspected to be behind the attack on Ann Mary, while the exact motive behind Anjana’s death is still being investigated. Authorities are gathering further details, while efforts are underway to coordinate the repatriation of the victims’ bodies to India.
