The United States reportedly carried out fresh military strikes on Iranian-linked targets near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. According to reports, the operation was launched after allegations that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard forces were attempting to deploy naval mines in the region. Missile launch sites and naval boats near Bandar Abbas were among the primary targets during the operation. US officials described the move as a “self-defense” action aimed at protecting American military assets in the Gulf.
Following the strikes, multiple explosions were reported in Bandar Abbas, Sirik and Jask areas. While Iranian state-linked media reported damage and casualties, Tehran has not officially confirmed the extent of the losses. Analysts believe the latest escalation could impact ongoing diplomatic and ceasefire discussions between the United States and Iran. Rising tensions near the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most crucial oil transit routes, have also triggered concerns in global energy markets.
