Praggnanandhaa Storms into Grand Chess Tour Finals

Indian teenage Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa produced a dominant performance to defeat Germany’s Vincent Keymer 19-9 in the semifinal of the Grand Chess Tour. Praggnanandhaa took a commanding 9-3 lead after two classical games and extended his advantage to 17-3 by winning both rapid games. He then won the opening blitz game to secure his place in the final.

Although the result was already decided, Praggnanandhaa played the remaining three rapid games as required by the tournament regulations, with Keymer winning those encounters. In the other semifinal, Fabiano Caruana defeated Wesley So 18-12 to set up a title clash against Praggnanandhaa. Keymer and So will compete for third place, while the top three finishers will earn direct entry to next year’s Grand Chess Tour.
