Indian players Prateeti Bordoloi and Mayank Chakraborty are within touching distance of clinching titles at the Asian Junior Chess Championship. In the girls’ classical event, Prateeti secured a win in the eighth round before drawing her ninth-round game against Indian player Sravya Sri. She currently leads the standings with seven points, while Sravya Sri is sixth with 6.5 points.
In the classical open section, Mayank Chakraborty remained at the top with 7.5 points after drawing his ninth-round game. Hyderabad player Vignesh Advaith Vemula defeated Siddhant in the ninth round and moved to sixth place with 6.5 points. The final round on Wednesday will determine the championship winners.
