Despite the government and officials repeatedly claiming that rules for Sadabainama applications have been simplified, farmers continue to face difficulties. Although the guidelines clearly state that an affidavit from the seller is not required, several applications are still being rejected due to technical issues. One of the major problems now emerging is the absence of the seller’s name in online land records.
In Nalgonda district, a farmer who purchased two acres of land through a handwritten agreement saw his application rejected because the seller’s name was not available online. In another case from Warangal district, a farmer’s application was denied because the online system showed the names of the seller’s sons instead of the original owner. Farmers say that despite multiple guidelines issued by authorities, complications in Sadabainama applications continue to create uncertainty and concern.
