Rangareddy District Makes It Big in Digital India..

Rangareddy district, which plays a significant role in Telangana’s economy, is strengthening its position in the country’s digital economy as well. With a strong presence in the IT, pharmaceutical and aerospace sectors, the district has witnessed a significant rise in digital transactions. According to recently released Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data, Rangareddy recorded UPI transactions worth ₹35,118.87 crore in July, placing it fourth among districts across India. Bengaluru Urban topped the list with ₹96,153.36 crore, followed by Mumbai Suburban at ₹61,755.96 crore and Pune at ₹51,264.87 crore.

Rangareddy’s digital payment activity extends beyond UPI. The district has also emerged as one of the leading markets for PhonePe transactions. During the previous quarter, transactions worth ₹1.04 lakh crore were reportedly carried out through PhonePe in Rangareddy, giving the district third place nationally. Chennai, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Thane and Hyderabad followed Rangareddy in the UPI rankings. The figures highlight the growing adoption of digital payments in the district, driven by its expanding business ecosystem, urbanisation and concentration of technology and other major industries.
