Infosys has confirmed that Lax Gopisetty, CEO of Infosys Public Services (IPS), is currently unreachable following the devastating flash floods that struck the Nepal-Tibet border region. Gopisetty had reportedly travelled to Nepal on a personal trip and was caught up in the disaster. Infosys said its immediate priority is to establish contact with him, locate him safely and ensure his well-being. The company is working with relevant government agencies and authorities to gather information and is maintaining regular communication with his family while providing them with all necessary support.
Gopisetty is a senior technology executive with more than three decades of experience, particularly in the IT and public-sector domains. Infosys Public Services provides technology and strategic services to government organisations in the US and Canada. The Nepal disaster has left hundreds dead and thousands missing, while India’s Ministry of External Affairs has said around 320 Indian nationals remain uncontactable or missing. India is also coordinating rescue and evacuation efforts for citizens affected by the floods.
