The death of Disha Salian, former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has returned to the spotlight after the Bombay High Court raised questions about aspects of the investigation. Disha died on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai. Her father, Satish Salian, has approached the court seeking registration of an FIR and a fresh investigation, alleging that the circumstances surrounding her death require further scrutiny. During the recent hearings, the court questioned the authorities about medical findings and procedural aspects of the inquiry, including whether the investigation had followed the appropriate legal process.
The court also examined discrepancies raised regarding the injuries and other circumstances surrounding the death. The Maharashtra government, however, defended the investigation, submitting that witness statements, medical records, forensic material and other evidence did not establish foul play. Counsel representing Aaditya Thackeray also opposed the allegations and argued that the petition was politically motivated. After hearing the parties, the Bombay High Court reserved its judgment. The allegations made in the petition remain subject to judicial consideration and have not been established as facts.
