Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams to Conduct Varuna Yagam and Parjanya Shanti Homam

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will conduct Kari Rishti Yagam, Varuna Yagam and Parjanya Shanti Homa from August 30 to September 3, praying to Lord Sri Venkateswara for timely and abundant rainfall, prosperity in the state and the country, and the happiness and well-being of people across the world. The rituals will be held at the Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham in Tirumala, with 32 Vedic, Shrauta and Smartha scholars participating under the guidance of its principal, Sri Kuppa Siva Subrahmanya Avadhani.

The programme will begin on August 30 with Ankurarpana, Ganapati Puja, Punyahavachanam and Ritwik Varanam between 7 pm and 8 pm. From August 31 to September 3, Varuna Yagam, Kari Rishti and Parjanya Shanti rituals will be conducted daily from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, along with recitations from seven Vedic branches, the Ramayana, Sundarakanda, Virata Parva and Rishyasringa Dhyana. Varuna and Parjanya Mantra Anushtanam will also be performed at Gogarbham Dam. In the evenings, Agnihotra Anushtanam and Vedic recitations will be held at Dharmagiri. The rituals will conclude with Purnahuti on September 3 between 11 am and noon.
