A fresh development has emerged in the Disha Salian death case, with her father, Satish Salian, reportedly sending legal notices seeking ₹500 crore in damages from Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and former Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh. According to reports, the notice alleges that remarks made by the two leaders portrayed Satish Salian’s efforts to seek a fresh investigation into his daughter’s death as politically motivated. He has sought compensation as well as unconditional public apologies and retractions.
Disha Salian, who had worked as a manager for late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a high-rise building in Mumbai. Sushant died six days later, leading to widespread public discussion about whether the two cases were connected. The CBI has now registered an FIR following directions from the Bombay High Court and is conducting a fresh investigation into the circumstances surrounding Disha’s death. Aaditya Thackeray has denied knowing or meeting Disha and has described the allegations linking him to the case as baseless, while the investigation remains ongoing.
