YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded repolling in Pulivendula, alleging widespread irregularities during the polling process. He submitted a formal representation to Returning Officer Chinnaiah, bringing alleged attacks, bogus voting and other electoral violations to his attention. Jagan claimed that YSRCP polling agents were not allowed inside several polling booths and alleged that voters were being threatened. He further accused the authorities of facilitating irregularities in the absence of his party's agents. Jagan also stated that his party did not support violence and believed that attacks would not achieve anything. He alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu lacked the confidence to ensure free and fair elections.
Jagan left Kadapa without casting his vote, stating that voting under the prevailing circumstances would amount to undermining democracy. He alleged that the State Election Commission and officials were acting under Chandrababu Naidu's influence. He announced that he would return to cast his vote if repolling was conducted in Pulivendula. Jagan also said that his party would approach the court over the alleged incidents and stressed that the developments in Andhra Pradesh highlighted the need for electoral reforms.
