The Telangana government has transferred Hyderabad Cyber Crime DCP Aravind Babu after a case involving Meta India's head attracted nationwide attention. The Cyber Crime Police had registered the case following a complaint by Telangana BJP leaders, alleging that objectionable social media posts targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were circulating on Facebook and Instagram.
The controversy intensified after Meta India's head was also named as an accused in the case, raising questions over whether the company could be held responsible for posts made by individual users on its platforms. Following the widespread criticism, the government issued orders attaching DCP Aravind Babu to the DGP's office with immediate effect. He has already reported to the DGP's office.
