CBI Takes Key Decision on Pending Cases

The Central Bureau of Investigation is probing multiple cases of irregularities in recruitment examinations across the country. Although investigations in 158 cases have been completed, many of them remain pending trial in various courts. Notably, some of these cases date back nearly 20 years. In this context, the CBI has decided to approach High Courts to transfer these cases to fast-track courts for speedy trials.

Following nationwide protests over incidents like the NEET paper leak, the central government introduced legal reforms to ensure time-bound trials. Several states have begun setting up fast-track courts to address such cases. The CBI is also planning to appoint special prosecutors and ensure necessary resources to expedite the resolution of long-pending cases.
