Global fuel supply concerns have intensified amid rising tensions in West Asia, particularly following attacks involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. Disruptions in oil production and supply from Gulf nations, along with the closure of the Hormuz Strait, have impacted nearly 40 percent of global oil movement. As crude oil prices surge sharply, countries across the world are looking for alternative sources to secure their energy needs.
In a significant move, Russia has announced a ban on petrol exports starting from next month 1, prioritizing domestic supply and price stability. While India relies heavily on crude oil imports, including a share from Russia, experts believe the impact will remain limited due to the country’s strong refining capacity. With refineries processing around 5.6 million barrels per day, India is well-positioned to meet domestic demand and manage the situation effectively despite global uncertainties.
