Delay in Wipro Onboarding Sparks Concern

The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has approached the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment over the alleged delay in onboarding more than 200 engineers selected by Wipro. The organisation has written to Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, seeking immediate intervention and clarity on the future of the affected candidates.

The candidates were selected under Wipro’s ‘Elite Hiring 2025’ programme and received offer letters in July 2025, followed by Letters of Intent in August. Although they successfully completed background verification in March 2026, they have reportedly not been given official joining dates. NITES president Harpreet Singh Saluja said the prolonged uncertainty is causing financial and career-related concerns among the candidates. The organisation has demanded a time-bound onboarding plan, clarity on the validity of offer letters and LOIs, and written communication if the company intends to withdraw any selection.
