Russian Missile Strike Hits Mittal’s Ukraine Steel Plant

A Russian missile strike targeted the ArcelorMittal Mining and Metallurgical Complex in Ukraine, owned by Indian origin billionaire Lakshmi Mittal. The attack was reportedly carried out in retaliation for Ukrainian drone strikes. Two people were killed and 14 workers were injured in the incident.

The strike severely affected the plant’s energy supply and blast furnace operations, forcing a partial halt to production. Meanwhile, Russia’s Defence Ministry claimed that its forces had intercepted 822 drones launched by Ukraine.
