Amid the rapid expansion of Telangana’s economy, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is focusing on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to enhance GST revenue and curb leakages. During a meeting with noted economist Arvind Subramanian at MCR HRD Bodhi Pavilion in Hyderabad, discussions were held on strengthening the state’s financial position. The Chief Minister emphasized introducing reforms in GST and excise departments by implementing AI-driven systems to improve efficiency and transparency.
He suggested integrating multiple departments such as municipal administration, RERA, Panchayati Raj, electricity, and commercial taxes using AI to prevent revenue leakages, especially in the construction sector. By capturing data on construction materials and tax estimates at the approval stage, transparency can be improved. He also highlighted that integrating data from MeeSeva, Aarogyasri, and the CM Relief Fund would further enhance governance and streamline administrative processes.
