Indian stock markets recorded a massive rally on Thursday, driven by positive global cues following developments in the US elections. A sharp decline of around 5% in crude oil prices further boosted investor sentiment. Heavy buying was witnessed in automobile, IT and financial stocks, pushing benchmark indices significantly higher. The BSE Sensex surged 2,008 points, while the NSE Nifty gained 576 points by the end of the trading session.
The sharp rise in the benchmark indices translated into substantial gains for investors, with their overall wealth increasing by more than ₹8 lakh crore in a single day. The market rally also extended the positive momentum seen over the previous six trading sessions. During this period, both the Sensex and Nifty registered gains of around 10%. Strong global market trends and buying interest across key sectors supported the upward movement on Dalal Street.
