As part of its cost-control measures, US technology giant Apple has decided to reduce the budget allocated to employees for using artificial intelligence tools. The company has reportedly cut the daily AI spending limit for engineers from $300 to $200. It is also considering restricting the budget to just $25 in certain departments, indicating a stricter approach towards managing AI-related expenses.
The move is aimed at controlling the growing costs associated with the use of AI tools across the company. Apple is following a similar approach adopted by technology giants such as Microsoft and Amazon, which have also introduced restrictions on AI spending. Under the revised rules, employees who require additional funds beyond their allocated AI budget will have to seek approval from senior management.
