Nothing CEO Carl Pei has warned that smartphone prices could rise significantly in the coming days. He said that the rapid growth of the AI industry has pushed memory chip prices up by nearly 300%, impacting overall manufacturing costs.
He added that memory components now account for more than 50% of smartphone production costs. As a result, companies may reduce discounts during the upcoming festive season or increase prices by up to 30%, or even lower device specifications to manage costs.
