Amazon has expanded its Alexa-powered smart home portfolio with two new products: the Alexa Photo Frame, a digital photo display, and Echo Time, a smart alarm clock. Announced on October 28, the launches come ahead of the holiday shopping season, when demand for consumer electronics usually increases. The 10-inch Alexa Photo Frame features a semi-matte, anti-glare screen and uses Alexa+ to organise and display photos based on factors such as smiles, lighting and seasonal occasions. Users can also add voice notes, while photos sync automatically. It is currently available in the US, with prices starting at $199.99.
The Echo Time smart clock offers optional sleep-sensing features that identify lighter and deeper sleep phases to help users wake up more comfortably. Its smart alarm can wake users within a selected 10-to-60-minute window, and it also includes a sunrise simulation feature. Amazon has priced it at $199.99, while the Kids version costs $209.99. The company has also upgraded devices including the Echo Dot, Echo Studio and Echo Show 16. The latest Echo Dot includes a smart home hub and an eero Wi-Fi extender, while the Echo Studio with Home Camera adds home-monitoring and visual intelligence features. The updated Echo Show 16 comes with a larger display, built-in Fire TV and smart home tools.
