Tata Motors has introduced an updated version of its popular Punch SUV in South Africa on October 29. The new model is available in three variants: Pure+, Adventure and Accomplished+ S, with prices starting at 224,900 rand. The starting price is 20,000 rand lower than that of the previous model. A key highlight is that all three variants come with six airbags as standard. However, the announced prices and specifications are specifically for the South African market and should not be confused with the Indian version.
The Pure+ and Adventure variants are powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 88 PS and 115 Nm of torque. The top-spec Accomplished+ S gets a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering around 120 PS and 170 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. The Adventure variant offers a 360-degree camera and blind-view monitor, while the top variant gets a voice-assisted sunroof. Other features include electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The South African models also come with a five-year or 1,25,000-kilometre warranty and a two-year or 30,000-kilometre service plan.
