Meta Platforms has introduced a new AI Support Assistant on Facebook and Instagram to improve user support and content monitoring. The assistant is now being rolled out globally across Android, iOS, and desktop help centres, offering instant responses within seconds. This move reflects Meta’s efforts to strengthen user assistance and manage platform safety more effectively.
The AI assistant can answer queries and perform actions on behalf of users, such as reporting scam or fake accounts, explaining content removal, helping with appeals, and managing privacy settings. Currently, these features are active mainly on Facebook, with plans to expand them to Instagram soon. The system is designed to operate in multiple languages, making it accessible to a wider global audience.
Meta is also enhancing its content moderation using advanced AI systems that can detect scams, fraud, impersonation, and harmful content more efficiently. Early results show that these tools can identify thousands of scam attempts daily and significantly reduce fake celebrity accounts. Despite these advancements, Meta stated that human supervision will remain essential, especially for complex and sensitive decisions.
