Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has announced that one lakh students across the state will receive free training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud Computing. The initiative, titled the 'Telangana AI and Cloud Skilling Initiative', will be implemented by the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The programme will not impose any financial burden on the government, colleges or students. An agreement between TASK and AWS was signed at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Monday. Students from 643 TASK-affiliated colleges will receive industry-oriented training in AI, Cloud Computing, Data Engineering, Machine Learning and Generative AI.
The programme will offer dedicated learning tracks not only for engineering and science students but also for students pursuing non-STEM courses such as arts and commerce. AWS Cloud Console access will be provided for hands-on practical training. Every enrolled student will also get one year of free access to more than 900 digital courses through AWS Skill Builder. The initiative will include discounted vouchers for global certification examinations, industry interaction sessions and hackathons. Minister Sridhar Babu said that TASK would organise special job fairs for eligible students who successfully complete the training. Faculty members from affiliated colleges will also receive global-standard training in AI and cloud technologies.
