YSRCP leader P. Ravindranath Reddy has accused TDP leaders and supporters of engaging in violent activities during the local body elections. He alleged that the police failed to respond to attacks on women and questioned whether the election process could be described as democratic under such circumstances. Addressing a media conference on Monday, he criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, alleging that his statements did not match his actions. Ravindranath Reddy also claimed that democratic institutions had been weakened and that attacks had been carried out against the media. He further questioned Naidu’s continuation as Chief Minister.
Former Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Amzad Basha also expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the local body elections. He thanked YSRCP leaders and party workers for standing their ground and fighting despite the alleged incidents. Basha questioned how the elections could be described as peaceful when violence had reportedly taken place during the process. He also asked whether democratic values were upheld anywhere during the elections. Both leaders levelled serious allegations against the ruling party over the incidents, while their remarks reflect the YSRCP's criticism of the election process.
