For large families looking for a practical seven-seater, several models are available in India within a budget of Rs. 15 lakh. The Nissan Gravite and Renault Triber are compact MPVs powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing around 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque. They are offered with five-speed manual and AMT transmission options. The Gravite also gets a factory-fitted CNG option, while CNG conversion for the Triber can be considered through authorised or aftermarket channels, subject to applicable regulations. Their flexible seating arrangements provide additional luggage space when the rear seats are folded or removed.
For buyers looking for a more rugged vehicle, the Mahindra Bolero comes with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing around 75 bhp and 210 Nm of torque. It uses a five-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel-drive layout. Another popular option is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which features a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing around 101 bhp and 139 Nm, along with manual and automatic transmission options. A factory-fitted S-CNG version is also available. The Ertiga offers features such as automatic climate control, cruise control, a rear parking camera and a touchscreen infotainment system.
