Many actors from film families strive to establish an identity of their own rather than relying on their family background. Sunil Reddy is one such actor who is gradually making his presence felt in Tamil cinema as a character artist. He is the son of veteran Telugu filmmaker A. Kodandarami Reddy, who directed several memorable hits featuring Megastar Chiranjeevi, including Khaidi, Abhilasha, Pasivadi Pranam, Attaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu and Mutha Mestri. Despite belonging to a well-known film family, Sunil chose to begin his acting journey on his own and build a career through character roles.
Sunil made his acting debut in 2018 with Vijay Sethupathi’s Seethakathi. He subsequently appeared in films such as Master, Doctor, Beast, Jailer and Maamannan. His portrayal of Mahali in Doctor was particularly appreciated for its comic moments. Interestingly, his younger brother Vaibhav Reddy is also an actor who has earned recognition as a lead performer in Telugu and Tamil films. Sunil’s recent appearance in Suriya’s Viswanath and Sons has once again drawn the attention of Telugu audiences. Despite his father's legacy, he continues to work towards creating a distinct identity for himself in the Tamil film industry.
