On the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the Adani Group announced a massive $100 billion investment plan to build AI-ready, renewable energy-powered hyperscale data centres across India by 2035. The project will expand the existing 2GW AdaniConneX platform to 5GW over the next decade and aims to create a sovereign energy and compute platform for the country. The group expects this initiative to also attract an additional $150 billion in related investments across server manufacturing, cloud platforms, and supporting industries.
The company confirmed partnerships with Google for an AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam and facilities in Noida, Microsoft for projects in Hyderabad and Pune, and Flipkart for a second high-performance AI data centre to support digital commerce. These centres will integrate renewable energy generation, transmission infrastructure, and AI compute capabilities, while supporting high-density compute clusters and advanced cooling and power systems for next-generation AI workloads. Part of the computing capacity will also be reserved for Indian AI startups, research institutions, and national AI initiatives.
Adani Group linked the plan with its renewable energy portfolio, including the 30GW Khavda project, with over 10GW already operational. It also announced a further $55 billion investment to expand renewable generation and battery storage. Additionally, the group will co-invest in domestic manufacturing of critical infrastructure and collaborate with academic institutions to develop AI infrastructure engineering programmes, applied research labs, and a national fellowship initiative to cultivate skilled talent in AI and energy sectors.
