A social media post claiming that Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to join Punjab Kings ahead of the IPL 2027 season has gone viral. The post, shared by an X account named ‘PunjabKingsIpI’, featured a festive greeting along with the Hindi phrase, “Dekho.. Kaun Aane Wala Hai. Punjab Di Shaan, Nava Toofan!” and a reference to Hardik. The post led several fans to believe that the all-rounder’s move to Punjab Kings was almost confirmed. However, the account is not the franchise’s official X handle, which is @PunjabKingsIPL. The viral post originated from a fake account using a slightly altered version of the official handle.
Sports reports have indicated that discussions may be underway between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians over a possible player-swap deal involving Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh. However, as of November 6, 2026, neither franchise has officially confirmed any agreement. The player release and retention process is scheduled to continue until November 17. Therefore, while trade discussions have reportedly taken place, claims that Hardik has officially joined Punjab Kings remain unverified. The viral post should not be treated as an official announcement.
