Ishan Kishan has created world history by becoming the first-ever cricketer to achieve a unique milestone in T20 format. During the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 match between Jharkhand and Tripura, the young Indian cricketer smashed an unbeaten 113 runs off just 50 balls while serving as both captain and wicketkeeper. His explosive century, featuring 10 fours and 8 sixes, powered Jharkhand to an emphatic 8-wicket victory with 15 balls to spare, earning him the Player of the Match award.
This remarkable century marks Kishan's third T20 hundred while performing dual roles as captain and wicketkeeper, establishing a new world record. No other cricketer in history has achieved this feat of scoring three centuries while simultaneously leading the team and keeping wickets in T20 cricket. Previously, Australian legend Adam Gilchrist and Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan had managed only two centuries each under similar circumstances.
The 25-year-old's exceptional performance comes as a timely reminder of his capabilities, especially following his recent exclusion from the Indian national team. This world record achievement could potentially strengthen his case for a national comeback, proving his ability to excel under pressure while handling multiple responsibilities on the field.
