The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly taken a decisive stand on India–Pakistan cricket relations by rejecting all demands put forward by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, the PCB had proposed several conditions for playing matches against India. However, the BCCI is said to have clearly conveyed its position to the ICC, stating that it would not agree to any of those demands.
According to sources, the BCCI has categorically ruled out any bilateral series with Pakistan, reiterating that the long-standing suspension will continue due to political and security concerns. The Indian board has also clarified that it will not travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup or World Cup matches. Any future international tournaments involving India and Pakistan will be played only at neutral venues, with no change in policy, officials said.
In another key development, discussions also touched upon bilateral cricket with Bangladesh, with indications that India currently has no plans for such series in the prevailing situation. Meanwhile, talks are still ongoing regarding the handshake protocol between Indian and Pakistani players before or after matches. No final decision has been taken on this aspect. Analysts believe these firm decisions could mark another significant turning point in India–Pakistan cricket relations, underlining India’s uncompromising stance on security and policy matters.
