YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that the upcoming local body elections in Andhra Pradesh should be taken very seriously by party leaders and cadre. He alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is indulging in conspiracy politics and claimed that similar tactics were witnessed during recent municipal corporation by-elections. Jagan accused the ruling alliance of misusing police machinery and attempting to suppress democracy, urging YSRCP leaders to ensure that no local elections become unanimous without contest.
Jagan also raised concerns over alleged voter deletions, citing examples from West Bengal and Tamil Nadu elections. He claimed that large numbers of votes were removed in constituencies where Mamata Banerjee and MK Stalin contested, affecting election outcomes. He warned party leaders to carefully monitor electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh and said even a small reduction in votes could impact results significantly. Jagan asked party workers to actively explain welfare scheme cancellations and government failures to the public ahead of the elections.
