K. Laxman alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is hesitant about constituency delimitation and is misrepresenting the issue by framing it as a North-South divide. Speaking to the media at the BJP state office, Laxman stated that the proposal to increase legislative seats by 50 percent is being unnecessarily politicized. He emphasized that the move is aimed at ensuring fair representation based on population growth and questioned why such a proposal is being opposed if it benefits the public.
He further clarified that delimitation is carried out based on population and public needs, not political considerations. Laxman highlighted that while the previous government allocated ₹1,100 crore to railways in undivided Andhra Pradesh, the BJP government has significantly increased funding, allocating ₹9,000 crore to Andhra Pradesh and ₹7,000 crore to Telangana, along with three high-speed trains to Hyderabad. He challenged Revanth Reddy to explain how delimitation would harm the state and cautioned against baseless arguments. He added that simultaneous elections were held at the time of independence and questioned the resistance to the idea now, warning that people of Telangana would not forgive opposition driven by political motives.
