Vijay Focuses on Kerala.. Key Post Offered to Devan?

Vijay-led TVK appears to be turning its attention towards Kerala as part of a wider expansion strategy. The party has reportedly offered senior Malayalam actor Devan the position of Kerala state president. Devan recently resigned from the BJP and revealed that TVK representatives subsequently held discussions with him. He said two party leaders visited his residence and held talks for nearly three hours, followed by an online meeting with senior TVK leaders. During these discussions, he was reportedly offered the responsibility of leading the party in Kerala.

However, Devan is yet to take a final decision on joining TVK. He is expected to travel to Chennai and meet Vijay, after which he will decide whether to join the party and accept the Kerala leadership role. Vijay and Devan have known each other since their film careers, making the proposed political association particularly interesting. With Kerala politics largely dominated by the LDF and UDF, Devan believes there could be space for a new political alternative. Vijay’s strong fan base in Kerala, particularly among young people and students, could also work in TVK’s favour. If Devan joins the party, it could signal Vijay’s broader strategy to expand TVK beyond Tamil Nadu into other southern states.
