Kishan Reddy Questions Revanth Reddy’s Proposed US Meeting

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has questioned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s proposed meeting with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani and criticised the Chief Minister over his comments regarding the proposed US visit. Speaking to reporters in Delhi on Tuesday, Kishan Reddy said the External Affairs Ministry had not granted clearance for the US trip due to administrative reasons and rejected allegations that the decision was politically motivated. He said the ministry had informed the Telangana government that the proposed schedule was not appropriate at the level of the Chief Minister. Kishan Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister had travelled without obtaining the necessary clearance after discussing the matter with officials and was now blaming the Centre to cover up the issue.

Kishan Reddy cited previous instances where permissions had been granted for Revanth Reddy’s visits to Harvard Business School and London in connection with the Musi development project. He also said that similar restrictions had been imposed by governments in the past, including during the Congress-led government at the Centre. Criticising the Telangana government’s education policies, he alleged that promises to allocate 15% of the state budget to education, provide scooters and education assurance cards to students, and establish an international school in every mandal had not been fulfilled. He challenged the Chief Minister to explain the government’s achievements as it approaches 1,000 days in office. On Singareni, Kishan Reddy said steps were being taken to allocate Koyagudem Block-3 in Bhadradri Kothagudem district to Singareni. He said the block contains Grade-1 coal and could support production of around 120 million tonnes.
