

Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh urged global technology company Capgemini to establish a large IT Development Center in Visakhapatnam, highlighting the city’s strong IT ecosystem and growth potential. During a meeting held in Visakhapatnam on Thursday, Lokesh met Capgemini Global CEO Aiman Ezzat, India CEO Sanjay Chacko, and WNS Global CEO Keshav Murugesh. He requested the company to set up an IT development facility capable of generating around 20,000 jobs, along with Global Capability Centers, cloud services, and BPM verticals in the city. Lokesh also encouraged collaboration with local universities to establish advanced innovation centers focusing on artificial intelligence, cloud technology, cybersecurity, and digital talent development.
Lokesh stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Visakhapatnam is rapidly emerging as a hub for IT and data centers. He revealed that the construction of India’s largest Google data center will soon begin in the city. Major companies such as TCS and Cognizant have already established their presence in Visakhapatnam. He also mentioned that the Bhogapuram International Airport is expected to be inaugurated within the next three months. Capgemini CEO Aiman Ezzat responded that the company would examine the proposals made by the Andhra Pradesh government. He noted that Capgemini currently employs 3.4 lakh people globally, including nearly two lakh employees in India.
