YS Sharmila Sets Up 8-Member Monitoring Committee for AP Local Body Polls

APCC chief YS Sharmila Reddy has stepped up preparations to strengthen the Congress party and secure a strong showing in the upcoming local body elections in Andhra Pradesh. As part of the strategy, she has constituted an eight-member state-level monitoring committee. CWC member N. Raghuveera Reddy has been appointed chairman of the committee, while former Union Minister and APCC working president JD Seelam will serve as its convenor. CWC member Gidugu Rudra Raju and former Union Ministers Pallam Raju and Killi Kriparani are among the members.

PCC working president Mastan Vali and former Rajya Sabha MP and chief spokesperson T. Tulasi Reddy have also been included in the panel. In addition, spokesperson and Nellore DCC president Kiran Kumar Reddy has been appointed as the PCC coordinator and social media in-charge for the local body elections. Sharmila has directed the monitoring committee to work towards securing a majority of local body seats for the Congress. She also instructed district and city Congress presidents to coordinate with the committee on election procedures, candidate selection and other related matters.
