Allegations have emerged that an attempt was made to kidnap Bhaskar, a CPI candidate for the ZPTC seat in Rudravaram, Nandyal district. According to CPI leaders, TDP ZPTC candidate Rajarao allegedly visited the CPI office in Nandyal at around 11 p.m., accompanied by Constable Obulesu. Bhaskar had filed his nomination as the CPI candidate for the Rudravaram ZPTC constituency.
CPI leaders alleged that Bhaskar was called outside the office on the pretext that the Sub-Inspector wanted to meet him, after which an attempt was made to abduct him. They further claimed that TDP leaders threatened CPI members during the incident. CPI district secretary N. Ranga Naidu and party workers reportedly resisted the alleged attempt, following which CPI leaders called Dial 100 to alert the police. Further details and the police response are awaited.
