The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a petition on November 3 concerning an incident in which a woman journalist was allegedly injured during an Opposition leaders’ march towards the court premises on October 12. Senior advocate Gaurav Bhatia, representing the journalist, told the court that the petition had not yet been listed for hearing. The court responded that notice had already been issued in the matter and confirmed that it would be taken up on November 3.
The incident reportedly occurred when Opposition leaders, led by Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, visited the Supreme Court to submit a petition challenging the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Allegations regarding the woman journalist’s injury are now before the court for consideration. The upcoming hearing is expected to address the petition, with further details likely to emerge during the proceedings.
