Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman has addressed the criticism surrounding the songs of the upcoming film Ramayana. With tracks such as “Ravana Tandav” and “Rangulu Rangule” drawing attention and online discussion, Rahman said that some people who criticise his work initially later reconsider their views and apologise. He explained that composing music involves extensive effort, repeated revisions and careful evaluation before a song is released. By the time the creative process is complete, he said, he often has little energy left to focus on other people’s comments. Rahman added that his priority is to work sincerely and hope that audiences connect with the music.
Rahman also spoke about audience expectations and his approach to musical experimentation. He said some listeners expect him to recreate the style of songs from the early stages of his career, but he does not want to restrict himself to one musical pattern. He prefers to explore new sounds and approaches rather than repeatedly reproduce past successes. Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, with Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi portraying Sita. According to the supplied report, the film’s first part is scheduled for release on November 5. The discussion around its music has added to the anticipation surrounding the mythological epic.
