Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action drama King has generated considerable anticipation among moviegoers. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film will feature Shah Rukh sharing screen space with his daughter, Suhana Khan, for the first time. Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat and Arshad Warsi are also part of the cast. The makers previously announced December 24 as the film’s release date. However, the absence of promotional activity led to speculation that the release might be postponed. Rumours also suggested that the arrival of Hollywood films could affect the movie’s schedule.
Amid the speculation, Shah Rukh Khan unveiled a striking new poster that appears to reaffirm the planned release date. He sports a rugged look with dishevelled golden hair, blood-stained clothing, a gun in his hand and a red rose between his lips, against a backdrop of flames and sparks. The intense visual has further fuelled excitement around the film. His caption, which references the 1999 song Baadshah and describes him as a lover rather than a killer, adds another intriguing element. The poster appears to reinforce the December 24 release plan, although the makers’ official announcements remain the definitive source for any final schedule confirmation.
