While companies commonly celebrate Diwali by giving employees sweets, bonuses and gift vouchers, the Mits Group, a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Chandigarh, has reportedly taken a different approach by gifting SUVs to some of its employees. The company’s founder and chairman, MK Bhatia, is said to have chosen the gifts to recognise high-performing staff members who have contributed to the organisation’s growth and remained associated with it over the years. The gesture has drawn attention in corporate circles as an example of recognising employees’ dedication.
Bhatia’s business journey reportedly involved significant financial challenges before he built and expanded his business. The group operates from Panchkula in Haryana and is said to have expanded into international markets, including Canada, London and Dubai. Videos showing employees receiving car keys and vehicles leaving a showroom have been circulating on social media, drawing praise from viewers. Many users have welcomed the gesture, saying that recognising employees’ hard work through meaningful rewards can help foster appreciation and loyalty in the workplace.
