Union Minister Bandi Sanjay strongly criticised the rule of the Nizam while speaking on the occasion of Telangana Liberation Day. He said Telangana attained liberation with the resolve of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and recalled the history of people revolting against the Nizam’s autocratic rule and sacrificing their lives. Sanjay said it was shameful to portray the Nizam as a great ruler in the Assembly. He also made a controversial remark that the DNA of leaders who praise the Nizam should be tested to determine whether they are citizens of the country or have “foreign DNA.”
Sanjay further alleged that some political parties were ignoring development and engaging in corruption while remaining focused on trading accusations against one another. He said governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi was being carried out without scope for corruption and urged people to think about whether they wanted corrupt governance or corruption-free administration.
