TDP Wins Ongole Mayor’s Post; Nallamalli Srisilpa Secures Victory

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has captured the Mayor’s post in the Ongole Municipal Corporation in Prakasam district. TDP candidate Nallamalli Srisilpa registered a decisive victory, defeating her YSRCP rival, Kuppam Prasad, by a margin of 37,172 votes. The results have triggered celebrations among the TDP-led alliance supporters in Ongole.

Of the 62 divisions in the Ongole Municipal Corporation, the TDP won 39 seats, while the YSRCP secured 11, Jana Sena won eight, the BJP claimed one, and independents and other candidates bagged the remaining three seats. The counting of votes, originally scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. yesterday, was delayed due to heavy rainfall. As a result, the counting process concluded only this afternoon.
