Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conducted an aerial survey on Wednesday to assess the damage caused by Murasu cyclone in the state. He inspected the affected areas across Guntur, Prakasam and Bapatla districts from a helicopter. The survey covered Chilakaluripet, Ongole, Kothapatnam, Chinaganjam, Chirala and Bapatla. As weather conditions were not suitable for the helicopter to land, the Chief Minister opted for an aerial inspection instead of a ground visit. After the survey, he is scheduled to reach the Amaravati Secretariat and review the cyclone situation and relief measures with officials through the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) centre.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) issued a flood warning for Velerupadu mandal in Eluru district. According to RTGS and APSDMA, there is a possibility of floodwater flowing from the Pedda Vagu. Residents of low-lying and flood-prone villages have been advised to remain alert and move to safer locations. The authority also warned that heavy rainfall could trigger sudden floods and urged people not to cross overflowing streams, canals or flooded roads. APSDMA Managing Director and RTGS CEO Prakhar Jain appealed to residents to follow safety precautions.
