Activist Saurav Das has criticised US President Donald Trump amid claims that the Republican Party has lost control of both chambers of the US Congress. In a social media post, Das described Trump as a "dictator" and remarked that leaders with authoritarian tendencies were facing challenging times across the world. He highlighted the importance of democratic institutions and suggested that political leaders must be held accountable for their actions.
Das further stressed that losing an election should not mark the end of accountability. He argued that Trump, his close associates and those who allegedly supported or enabled his actions should also be held responsible. According to Das, accountability must extend beyond electoral outcomes and include everyone involved in alleged wrongdoing. His remarks have triggered discussions about political responsibility, democratic values and the role of those who support powerful leaders.
