Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an open debate. Rahul has repeatedly urged the Prime Minister to participate in a public discussion on allegations of foreign influence and other political issues. Reacting to the challenge, Sarma took a sarcastic dig at the Congress leader.
“Dear Rahul ji, roses are given on Valentine's Day, not Diwali. Anyway, the BJP will see you in Parliament,” Sarma remarked. His statement appeared to dismiss Rahul’s demand for a public debate, indicating that the political contest would continue inside Parliament. The exchange has added another chapter to the ongoing political sparring between the BJP and the Congress.
