The Bharatiya Janata Party’s historic victory in West Bengal did not come easy, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and five other senior leaders playing a crucial role in the campaign. Amit Shah personally stayed in the state for 14 days, guiding party leaders and overseeing election strategy. He held rallies during the day and late-night meetings with party workers, focusing on booth-level coordination and campaign execution. He also promised implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations for government employees and stressed measures to curb infiltration.
Other key contributors included Dharmendra Pradhan, who acted as the main campaign strategist and bridged coordination between central and state leadership, and Bhupender Yadav, who monitored grassroots-level party activities. Sunil Bansal strengthened booth-level structures through “panna pramukh” networks, while former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb energized regional campaigns. BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya led the digital campaign strategy across the state.
